Morgan Housel


The Collaborative Fund

Morgan Housel is a partner at The Collaborative Fund and a former columnist at The Motley Fool and The Wall Street Journal. He is a two-time winner of the Best in Business award from the Society of American Business Editors and Writers, the New York Times Sidney Award, a two-time finalist for the Gerald Loeb Award for Distinguished Business and Financial Journalism, and the Columbia Journalism Review for the Best Business Writing 2012 anthology. In 2013 he was a finalist for the Scripps Howard Award.

Ed Blain

Europe Investment Team


Edward Blain, Master of Arts (Honours) in History (University of Cambridge), Chartered Financial Analyst.

Edward joined Orbis in 2010. Based in London, he is a member of the Europe investment team and is one of the stockpickers who directs client capital in the Orbis Global Equity Strategy. He previously worked as a political adviser to senior members of the Conservative Party.



Alex Bowles

Japan Investment Team


Alexander Bowles, Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Economics (Cambridge University), Master of Science in Finance (London School of Economics) Chartered Financial Analyst. Alex joined Orbis in 2011. Based in London, he is a member of the Japan investment team. He previously worked as an investment analyst at Partners Capital.

Marcel Bradshaw

Head of UK Retail


Marcel Bradshaw, Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Laws (University of Port Elizabeth), Admitted Attorney.

Marcel joined Orbis in 2016 and leads the firm's UK retail initiative. He previously worked for Old Mutual in South Africa and more recently in London in various retail business development roles, and prior to that was responsible for building Sanlam's international business and international platforms. Marcel started his career with the Old Mutual Corporate Law division, specialising in tax.


Dan Brocklebank

UK Director


Daniel Brocklebank, Master of Arts (Honours) in Politics, Philosophy and Economics (Brasenose College, University of Oxford), Chartered Accountant, Chartered Financial Analyst. Dan joined Orbis in 2002 as part of the investment team and was, most recently, responsible for leading the global sector investment team in London. In 2016 he was appointed to lead Orbis' UK operations and he is now Chairman of the firm’s UK Executive Committee. He previously worked at Arthur Andersen.

Claire Gallagher

Quantitative Analyst Team


Claire Gallagher, Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics (Trinity College Dublin), Bachelor of Engineering (Trinity College Dublin), Doctor of Philosophy in Signal Processing (Trinity College Dublin), Chartered Financial Analyst.
Claire joined Orbis in 2008. Based in London, she is a member of the team of quantitative analysts, with primary responsibility for investment and portfolio research. She previously worked as a quantitative analyst at Prima Asset Management Ireland Ltd.

Ashley Lynn

Multi-Asset Investment Team


Ashley Lynn, Bachelor and Master of Arts (Magna cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa) (Yale University), Juris Doctor (Yale Law School), Chartered Financial Analyst.

Based in Bermuda, Ashley leads Orbis' fixed income effort, has primary responsibility for the Global Balanced Strategy's fixed income holdings, and helps manage Orbis' multi-asset team. Prior to joining Orbis in 2013, she worked as an attorney at Boyden Gray & Associates in Washington, D.C. and in a policy role at the Office of the Secretary of Defense at the United States Department of Defense.

Benjamin Preston, Master of Arts (Honours) in Mathematical Sciences (University of Oxford), Chartered Financial Analyst.
